WHY NOW

Being listed is becoming the default.

AWS Marketplace is no longer a question of whether — it's a question of when.

ENTERPRISE PROCUREMENT

Enterprise procurement

Purchasing through AWS Marketplace is being built into procurement processes.

60%

faster procurement processes

CO-SELL WITH AWS

Co-sell conditions with AWS

An AWS Marketplace listing is expected as a precondition for co-selling.

Requirement

An AWS Marketplace listing is a participation requirement of the AWS ISV Accelerate Program

GLOBAL PROCUREMENT

Global procurement standards

Overseas customers increasingly include AWS Marketplace purchasing in their procurement requirements.

$163B

projected marketplace sales in 2030 (vs. $30B in 2024)
Omdia, October 2025

A listing request from the business side is a matter of when, not if. When it comes, engineering shouldn't be the bottleneck.

LISTING PROCESS

Listings stall in two places.
Engineering owns the integration.

The listing process has four phases. The load is uneven — what's decisive is KYC in Phase 1 and the integration in Phase 3.

WHAT THE AWS MARKETPLACE SIDE REQUIRES

Purchase detectionFulfillment URL redirect and registration-token handling
ResolveCustomerVerify the token and retrieve buyer and agreement information
GetEntitlementsRetrieve agreement details (dimensions, quantities, expiration)
Amazon EventBridgeReceive agreement update/cancellation events, plus the delivery IAM role
BatchMeterUsageUsage reporting for metered products

WHAT YOUR SAAS SIDE REQUIRES

Tenant mappingAutomated onboarding and offboarding
Registration form & notificationsA buyer-facing form plus buyer and admin notification emails
Plan-based controlsFeature and quantity limits driven by your pricing table
Agreement & account-ID recordsReconciliation against settlement reports; audit readiness
FTRFoundational Technical Review (AWS's technical requirements review)

It looks like “just three API calls,” but with tenants, agreements, notifications, and auditing it becomes an independent subsystem — one that keeps changing as AWS Marketplace evolves.

* Durations are estimates based on real listings, not periods guaranteed by AWS.

KEY MESSAGE

Publishing your listing isn't the finish line.

AWS Marketplace is updated frequently. Your integration becomes a maintenance burden the moment you build it.

Tracking spec changes

APIs, events, and identifiers change — and you must keep up within deadlines.

Issues that only surface in operation

Buyer reconciliation, accounting, notifications — problems you can't see before you're live.

Key-person dependency

Integration code only its author can touch gets left behind, and updates stall.

That's why Deshima keeps updating.
Tracking AWS Marketplace spec changes is Deshima's job — no code changes on your side.

CASE STUDIES

Problems we actually hit running our own SaaS.

Anti-Pattern lists and operates its own SaaS, SaaSus Platform, on AWS Marketplace. Deshima is what we learned there, turned into software.

CASE 1

The sweeping Concurrent Agreements change

Feb 2026AWS announced concurrent agreements from a single account for SaaS products
From Jun 1, 2026Enabled by default for new SaaS products

Not a feature addition — a change to the agreement identifier itself.

  • The agreement identifier moved to LicenseArn. The one-account-one-agreement assumption broke, forcing DB schema changes
  • ResolveCustomer / GetEntitlements responses changed, requiring per-LicenseArn agreement tracking
  • Notifications had to migrate from Amazon SNS to Amazon EventBridge
Deshima's answer

Already supported. No code changes on your side.

CASE 2

Settlement reports show the AWS account holder — not your end customer

A problem you can't see before listing — it only appears in operation.

  • Settlement reports only reveal the AWS account ID and the account holder
  • With reseller-issued accounts, the holder is the reseller. Only your application can tell who the end customer is
  • Without a design that reconciles them, revenue recognition, payment matching, and billing identification get hard
Deshima's answer

Deshima keeps end-customer info, AWS account IDs, and account-holder info linked together.

BUILD OR BUY

Who owns keeping up with AWS Marketplace?

Building it yourself vs. Deshima, across seven criteria.

Criteria

Build it yourself

Deshima

Initial build

Build the API integration, registration form, notifications, and IAM/EventBridge setup yourself

Auto-generated on account connection; forms and notifications ready immediately

Tracking spec changes

Absorb AWS updates into your own roadmap (e.g., Concurrent Agreements)

Deshima keeps up — no code changes on your side

Operational issues

Build buyer reconciliation, notifications, and change detection as you operate

Practitioner-proven solutions shipped as features

Knowledge

Mostly English docs; few precedents in Japan

Japanese listing guide and task checklist

Security

Design permissions and manage credentials yourself

Least-privilege IAM role + AssumeRole with ExternalId. No credentials held

Engineering resources

Competes with your core product forever

Stay focused on your product

Cost structure

Headcount = fixed cost, recurring with every change after launch

¥0 upfront and monthly. A sales fee only when you sell = variable cost

The real cost of building it yourself isn't the initial build — it's AWS Marketplace change-tracking living on your roadmap permanently.

AVAILABLE NOW

One-stop support, from guides to integration.

Four features today: the top two close the information gap (Information); the bottom two solve the engineering-resources problem (Integration).

Roadmap

Now ─ LIVE

Purchase-to-onboarding automation via account connection

Next ─ EXPLORING
  • Listing Deshima itself on AWS Marketplace (in preparation)
  • Managing listings entirely inside Deshima (no AWS console)
  • Metering management (usage aggregation, reporting, history)
Later ─ EXPLORING
  • Revenue & payout tracking (one dashboard)
  • Otona, the AI sales copilot (listing copy and pricing suggestions)

* Roadmap items reflect our current thinking. Timing, scope, and availability are not guaranteed and may change without notice.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which product types are supported?
SaaS Contract (fixed-term) products on AWS Marketplace. Metered (usage-based) billing sits in the Next stage of our roadmap (exploring). Concurrent Agreements are already supported.
What permissions does Deshima need on my AWS account?
A least-privilege IAM role connected via AssumeRole. Deshima never stores your access keys or credentials.
Is this separate from AWS Marketplace's own fees?
Yes. The fees AWS collects and Deshima's sales fee are separate.
Do you support CPPO (Channel Partner Private Offers)?
Not in the initial release. We're gathering interest from early-access teams to decide what comes next.
Can Deshima integrate with existing systems (CRM, notification tools)?
That's the design. Collected data is published as Amazon EventBridge events, so you can build any downstream processing freely.
When do fees apply?
Only when a sale happens through AWS Marketplace. The listing guide, account connection, form setup, and publishing are free.
